Moral of this top 5?

Facebook allows you to reach out to a huge number of internet, smart phone and tablet users about ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING! Often, the more out of the box and more abstract, the better to really gain traction.

As I mentioned, this could become a regular feature, I think !! There are some amusing/crazy people out there!

Donald, Disney & Dancing

I wrote  a post on my blog in June entitled the Hand from Above showcasing a great interactive initiative from UK containing a hand on a giant screen in a shopping mall, that interacted in real time with shoppers on the ground. Click below to check it out:

This week, a Disney Store has done something very similar on electronic billboards in Times Square, New York where Passers-By can seemingly interact with their favourite characters from Disney movies. Click below to see:

It just demonstrates that the role of creative technologists shall become more and more important in the future – link up a solid idea/concept with a relevant technology to make it live and breathe, and brands like Disney will benefit by entertaining consumers and creating love marks for their products and services.

Ideas like this also give you shareable content that will generate free earned media for your brand if it’s entertaining enough for online consumers. I’m sharing it here for example!!

Thanks, Mickey.

Waterproof your iPhone

A new spray called Never Wet has just been released that allows you to coat your chosen electronic goods so that they remain totally waterproof. Check out the video below and watch this crazy stuff work:

I would love to see if top swimmers could shave seconds off their personal best times if sprayed with this outrageous product. It’s quite possible, I’m guessing !!

3D Chalk Drawing

Dutch artist, Leon Keer has created an absolute 3D masterpiece with his use of chalk on a sidewalk at the 2011 Sarasota Chalk festival.

First stage – Draw the 3D image in white chalk

Second stage – Add some colour to the characters

And this is the final image – very very impressive:

A great way to generate earned media or word of mouth online.  We are impressed Mr. Keer.
