ALS Ice bucket challenge graph

An icy robservational graph.

ALS ice bucket challenge graph

This graph was created not to make light of this horrible disease but rather my humble way of creating a little awareness for it.

I therefore encourage Canadians to click here to donate on ALS Canada, Americans to donate here on ALS Association and my British friends to donate here at Motor Neurone disease Association.

It is a brutal disease that stole the life of a good friend of ours, Marinko Biljan who was the godfather to our son, Callum, as well as the surgeon that delivered him at birth !

Please like my blog post to spread the word – let’s reach one person at a time and find a cure for this bastard illness.

Top 5 Hadoukens ! What are they?

Came across this great trend similar to Vadering or Planking known as ‘Hadoukening.’

The word Hadouken comes from the Japanese Ha Dou (Wave or Surge) and Ken (Fist, Technique, or Attack); a blastwave or fireball formed from a martial artist’s life energy (or ki/ch’i).

It is the action taken in games like Mortal Combat when someone fires a powerful energy wave or fireball at others attacking them.

Err..what the hell are you talking about, Rob?

Let’s just show my Top 5 – you’ll get the idea:

#5 The Single Kid Hadouken

#4  The Boss Hadouken

#3 The buddy Hadouken

#2 The Fist Hadouken

Google aims to provide wifi to the whole planet: Project Loon

I think that behind providing water and food for the entire planet, providing it with wifi must be a close third place !

With Project Loon, this is what Google is proposing to do.

Project Loon from Google

PROJECT LOON QUICK FACTS

  • Bringing internet connectivity to developing nations
  • 60 feet in diameter super pressure pumpkin shaped balloons
  • Multiple week flight duration
  • Approximately 67,000 feet cruising altitude
  • Control system that self-directs balloon course
  • Stratollite technology
  • Solar panels provide system power

CONCLUSION

As I have heard mentioned in several Google lectures that I have attended in recent years, they are continuously looking to change paradigms and try things that most corporations would be never even dream of trying.

Message to big corporations – Be brave enough to break out of existing business practices, internal systems and traditional thinking, and try to see how technology and interactivity can take your business to another level.

As with Google’s balloons, the sky’s the limit !

Next Internet Trend: Vadering

Quite simply my favourite internet meme of recent years. It beats cat breading and planking by far.

Basic priciple is that you have to simulate in a photo, the moment in Star Wars when Darth Vader appears to choke one of his colleagues and lift him in the air.

Here are my top 5 Vadering pics:

#5 Casual Vadering while drinking

#4 The double Vader

#3 The girlfriend Vader

#2 The kid Vader

Man solves 3 Rubik’s cubes whilst juggling them!

I could not believe this video – it is a bit long (about 6 minutes) but you should at least watch him start juggling them and watch him finish with 3 solved Rubik’s cubes..

No idea how this is possible! He’s a Stanford University student, by the way, so he’s obviously pretty smart.

Click image below to see the video – enjoy!
